Centerville armory permanently closes
The Iowa National Guard announced Friday evening that the local armory in Centerville has been closed.
UPDATE: Lineville boil advisory lifted
A boil advisory has been lifted for the city of Lineville in Wayne County following a water main break Thursday that caused the system to lose pressure. The boil advisory also included the portions of the city located over the state line in Missouri.
Juvenile charged with arson in CHS fire
According to a press release from the Centerville Police Department, the Centerville Police Department arrested Alec James Brown, 14, of Centerville at the Law Center on Friday, Jan. 17.
UPDATED: High School postpones classes for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Centerville High School will remain closed until the building is ready for occupants, a press release from the Centerville Community School District superintendent Anthony Ryan says. However, students in preschool through eighth grade will be returning to school on Monday as regularly scheduled.
Crews will clean building throughout weekend
Cleaning crews arrived on the scene at Centerville High School on Friday, and will continue to be on the scene through the weekend to clean the high school after Thursday's fire, according to a letter from Centerville Schools Superintendent Tony Ryan posted on the school district's website and submitted to the Daily Iowegian.

One lifeflighted after accident
One was transported by air ambulance from the scene of a two car accident Sunday afternoon. Two others were transported to Mercy Medical Center in Centerville by ground ambulance.
