CENTERVILLE —

Centerville, Moravia, Moulton-Udell, Seymour and Wayne Community will not be going to class today. Indian Hills Community College announced on their Facebook page Thursday morning that they will be having classes today, but are asking students to use their discretion and to travel safely.

Reports have began trickling in regarding drivers sliding off the road, struggling to travel up hills and getting stuck at stops.

The National Weather Service is calling for some additional snow throughout the afternoon. However, the primary concern has become forecasted winds of 28-33 mph with gusts of 55 mph throughout today.

The winds could cause problems with utility services in the area. A telephone line has been reported down in Centerville on North 13th Street.

No power lines have been reported down on the scanner as of yet. Alliant Energy, as of 8:53 a.m., is only reporting three customers without power in Appanoose County and one without power in Wayne County.
