MORAVIA — The Moravia Community School District's bond issue passed April 2 in a special election.

The official website for the Moracia Community School District said "yes" received 67 percent (376 votes) of the votes while 33 percent (184) voted no.

The bond issue was to provide funds to expand the school's current facilities, which is planned on including six new classrooms, a new gym, new wrestling room, new weight room and new FFA building.

According to the ballot language, the passage of the issue authorizes the school district to "contract indebtedness and issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $2,500,000 to provide funds to build, furnish and equip additions to its existing facility and related remodeling, and to improve the site."
