Daily Iowegian

BLOOMFIELD — State Sen. Keith Kreiman, of Bloomfield, responded Wednesday to the news that an official recount did not change the election-night results in Senate District 47.

After calling his challenger, Mark Chelgren, to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory, Sen. Kreiman released this statement:

“I wish Mark Chelgren all the best in his upcoming service in the Iowa Senate. I appreciate the honor and responsibility of serving as a state legislator and I am thankful to the people of this area for their trust and support. Now that the recount is over, I am looking forward to spending this Thanksgiving holiday with my family.”

Kreiman served in the Iowa House from 1993 to 2002 and has served in the Iowa Senate since 2003.
