Four being held in Wayne County Jail on weapons and drug charges
A routine traffic stop early Saturday morning by a Wayne County deputy on Highway 2 approximately three miles east of Corydon resulted in weapons and drug charges being filed against four Kansas City area residents.
The Nov. 7 Wayne County sheriff's office press release lists Ramon Alejandro Fernandez, 32, of Kansas City, Kan., as the driver of a 2004 Buick owned by one of the passengers, Christopher Damon Dixon, 36 and Vanessa Renee Willis, 23, both from Kansas City, Kan., and Jonny Wayne Doty, 31, from Liberty, Mo. The four appeared before a magistrate later in the day where bond was set at $106,000 each for Fernandez, Dixon and Willis and $102,000 for Doty.
During a search of the vehicle, a handgun and illegal drugs were found.
• Fernandez was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine while possessing a firearm, a class B felony, carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor and operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
• Dixon was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine while possessing a firearm, a class B felony, possession and control of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony and possession of a schedule I controlled substance marijuana, a serious misdemeanor.
• Willis was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine while possessing a firearm, a class B felony, possession and control of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony and possession of a schedule II controlled substance methadone, a serious misdemeanor.
• Doty was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine, a class B felony and carry weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Corydon police and the Lucas County sheriff's office assisted in the incident.
