Jan. 2

11:32 a.m. An accident was reported at 560th Street and 195th Avenue. A 1984 Chevrolet driven by Troy Lee Hilty, 36, of Centerville went off the roadway into a ditch. The deputy reported Hilty stated he got too close to the snow covered shoulder of the road. Passenger Brandy Louise Ocker, 27, of Centerville reportedly went home for the night and the next morning went to Mercy Medical Center by private vehicle and was treated for a broken right leg. Damage was estimated at $300 to the vehicle.

2:01 p.m. An accident was reported at Highway J3T north of 331st Avenue. A 1997 Jeep driven by Nancy Jo Kelly, 63, of Unionville, Iowa, and a 1988 Dodge pickup driven by Chance Drew Basinger, 22, of Unionville, Iowa, collided on the icy road at a curve with the view blocked by trees and bushes. There were no injuries reported. Damage was estimated at $3,000 to each vehicle.

Jan. 4

6:20 p.m. An accident was reported at 183rd Avenue and Highway 2. A 2002 Chevrolet driven by Marion Lamar Lapp, 45, of Des Moines struck a deer on the roadway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,000.
