On Sept. 15 the Centerville FFA chapter did their semi annual clean up of the Orscheln parking lot and yard. Orscheln donated $100 to the FFA for this activity. Centerville FFA members participated in the SC District Soils Judging Contest on Sept. 18. Participating were Graydon Schmidt, Hunter Moore, Maranda Rupalo, Brett Bauman, Maddie Lange and Noah Coatney. The Centerville team received a Bronze and Rupalo took home the highest score amongst all the participants from Centerville.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about building code compliance. One Centerville resident at Monday's City Council meeting proposed the city create two new positions in the police department to only deal with minimum housing and nuisance abatement issues. The city currently has George Johnson as the only employee assigned to enforce building code compliance issues. Does Centerville need more than just Johnson to enforce code compliance issues?
