Injury accident on 610th Street in Exline

EXLINE — A driver of a cement truck is reported to have injuries following an accident in the 26000 block of 610th Street shortly before 2:50 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Scanner communications advised the driver is alert and awake at this time, but their legs are pinned in the vehicle. The truck is currently resting on it's passenger side.

Emergency crews from Mercy Ambulance, Southern Appanoose County First Responders, Cincinnati Fire Department and the Centerville Fire Department as well as the Appanoose County Sheriff's Office are on scene. Crews have requested the assist of the Mercy One Air Ambulance.

Mercy One advised a five minute ETA as of 3:44 p.m., they will be landing at the scene.

Extraction efforts are underway.

The Iowegian wants readers to think about the solicitation ordinance that will prevent groups or individuals from entering a roadway to solicit money. The Centerville City Council in June by a 5-0 vote passed the first reading of just such an ordinance. Public pressure and during a subsequent special meeting, the council voted 3-2 to table the ordinance. A second special meeting to discuss the solicitation ordinance is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at City Hall. So, the question of the week is, "Do you or do you not support the ordinance to prevent solicitation of funds in city streets?"
